  • Candace listed and sold my home

      My wife and I have moved six times in our lives. We have dealt with some very good Realtors, but Candace is by far the best we've ever had the pleasure to have worked with. She is extremely knowledgeable of the market and was able to steer us in a direction that ended up netting us $100,000 more than we initially thought we could get. Candace's attention to detail, ability to recommend upgrades without breaking the bank -- i.e. identifying what should be done to sell the house, vs. spending money needlessly on non- essential items -- and network of repair and design professionals made us feel extremely comfortable during what can be a stressful progress. In addition, her marketing techniques, which included staging, professional photos (including from a drone!), ad placements, etc., really put our house air the top of the list. Her husband Keith is also a secret weapon -- he and his team go through the inside and outside of the house and make the repairs that are needed -- and that an inspector would call out. He provides his services as part of their offering for up to 50 hours, which saved us thousands of dollars if we had gone to a third party contractor/repair person. Candace took care of all of the inspections up front and did a proactive inspection so that the entire deal was "clean" for prospective buyers. Last but not least, 10 days before closing, we had a major water issue when our washer leaked water all over the wood floors and under the house. Candace jumped on it immediately and organized a team to take care of all of the damage, including drying the floors, replacing wet insulation, removing standing water under the house, preparing the food floors, etc. We were able to close and the buyers were very satisfied with the condition of the home. I cannot stress what a great job the Candace Nordstrom and her team did for us from beginning to end.

    • I moved to Tiburon sight unseen! It was the best decision of my life! Finding a place to live from 3,000 miles away was pretty intimidating....except I found Candace Nordstrom! That made everything a piece of cake....I sent my daughter to scout out a condo for me....and not only did it tick every box on my wish came with Candace! She was so helpful and professional....guiding me every step of the way. She went above and beyond...even sent me a video of the condo inside and out AND she drew a floor plan for me so I could visualize the living space and surroundings. I knew exactly what to bring and what to leave behind....she was that thorough. After I moved in she helped with a few issues even though her job was technically finished after I took possession. Candace is knowledgeable, honest, full of contagious energy and just a pure pleasure to work with. I know I will call on her when it is time to move again (ugh)...though I am truly in paradise I really just want to stay put!

    • Selling real estate anywhere is a challenge, in Marin County with a vintage house it can be a nightmare. Not so if you hire Candace and Keith to do the job.Candace manages and controls everything for you. She orders inspections - ALL of them - makes certain one of them is in attendance, and manages stagers and staging and a thousand other things. Keith takes care of the myriad of details that come with getting the house prepared for the Brokers open.     • What a karmic treat I experienced when a friend of mine and I walked into an open house for a condo that I fell in love with (and didn't get) that Candacel listed. There was a spark that I seldom see that bounced off of Candace and Keith that was so appealing. New to Marin, I asked Candace all sorts of questions about communities; she wasn't my agent, but answered them honestly and fully. She even jumped in my car with us to look at a neighboring (is this a word?) unit. Honestly, I couldn't believe her energy and her willingness and desire to help me. It blew me away. In short order I asked her if she would help me find my home and she said yes. Candace was always available to me and responded to my texts and emails promptly. If she didn't know the answer to any of my questions, she made every effort to find out and get back to me. Ultimately we did find a new home for me and Candace and Keith were with me all the way, negotiating on my behalf to protect my interests. The relative ease and smoothness of everything that followed was fantastic. They helped me in ways that went beyond the typical realtor/client relationship and I am forever grateful to them. I hope never to have to move again, but if I do, I will of course want Candace and Keith to help me. They were more than fabulous.

    • Candace and Keith are the prototype for how real estate agents should be and never are. When I contacted them, I had no idea how on earth I was ever going to be able to move. I did however really want to move to another state where my daughter and her husband now lived with my two-years-old grandson. I had been contemplating this move for, obviously, two years and it just seemed overwhelming. My husband had been a collector--everything from china to crystal to silver to antique furniture and art. And I had my own collections--more china, more antiques--and then there was my crafting stamp collection. Then of course there was the stuff I had inherited from my mom, another china and antique collector. The house and the garage were brimming with stuff. I really wasn't sure it was possible to move. Then a friend recommended the Nordstroms! I met with Candace and Keith one morning and by evening Candace had emailed me a timeline of what needed to be done from that day until the day escrow would close. She included a budget and a list of decisions I would need to make about everything from the listing price for the house to where to live while the house was being sold. She sent Keith over with a pack of post-its to use to color code what to keep, what to sell, what to donate, what to discard. Candace and Keith held my hand through the entire project. Keith took stuff to Goodwill and to the dump for me. They arranged helpers to help me pack stuff to send to auction and stuff to send to storage while I looked for a new house in a new state. They made suggestions for ways to move my belongings once I found a house. Their professionalism was impressive. Their years of doing this has resulted in a very streamlined and successful method coupled with a list of equally dedicated professionals. They shared their contacts but never pushed them on me. Once my belongings were packed and in storage, they helped arrange painting, staging, and photographing. The house looked great. Best of all, it sold quickly for over the asking price--and escrow closed six days ahead of Candace's original timeline. I highly recommend Candace and Keith Nordstrom if you are looking for THE BEST REAL ESTATE AGENTS IN MARIN COUNTY. You will never find anyone more helpful and supportive throughout the entire process.

    • I don't write many reviews, only when I'm extremely happy or shockingly disappointed by service or quality. It's so nice to write a positive review today!My recent home buying experience with Candace and Keith was everything you want a real estate transaction to be: transparent, fast, and easy. I was informed throughout the entire process and at the end knew I made a smart purchase. I am the type of person that likes data and being involved in thinking through the best approach, which can be challenging when working with certain professionals. Candace has no ego and was happy to partner with me vs. tell me what to do. She was upfront with all information, direct with her point of view, but always open to taking an alternative path if I wanted. When I trusted her and followed her advice on my offer strategy, it paid off. I am a full-time working mom with a 4 month old - making sure we could communicate primarily over email, text and have flexible hours before/after work was very important to me. Great example: Candace came to my home with a notary at 7 PM so I could sign all the paperwork prior to the actual closing and not miss a day at work. She didn't have to be there when I signed the papers, but came just to help with the baby and allow me to focus. This was unprompted and representative of how she was constantly thinking of my needs through the entire process. Little things that mattered: Candace knew intimate details of the area I moved to and laid out the pros/cons for my family. Both she and Keith are also very knowledgable about repairs and estimated costs - this was helpful for me to think about my budget and what I'd truly be spending to make the home move in ready. My final comment is that both Candace and Keith are just really nice people! I found them both to be genuine and just pleasant to be around. It made the entire process much easier and I felt I could be truly honest and "myself" around them. This was a big purchase for me and I was doing it solo, so having this comfort level was a huge help. I am a very happy client in a great new home, thanks to Candace and Keith! Tiburon has a lot of those. Suddenly Life did a Detour....not in the direction anyone would want to go: my aged father was failing fast at 93, and mother was suddenly failing as well. I needed to move to their neighborhood in Redding, Ca, to join with siblings to take care of them as best we could ASAP. At warp speed, the Nordstroms swooped in to help....calm, kind and very efficient, they worked on the sale strategy while I packed up and got the movers over in time...and I streaked to Redding without even a place to live. I turned my dusty empty house over and into the hands of Candace & Keith while I focused on my family, and finding a place to live in Redding. My home in Tiburon wasn't even listed yet. Stagers and painters and decorators and photographers were on their way over the coming weeks.Now in Redding, I put it all out of my mind rarely keeping in touch by phone and email And then, just after the Super Bowl (Go Manning!) they listed my house, and within hours, sold it on the first offer within just hours of listing it. The paperwork was done on line, with their timely and gentle assistance as usual. Closing followed without a hitch. Easy Peezy.Oh, btw, I was a first time seller and practically rigid with fear...and they took care of that too...Ps: I agree with all the five star reviews for them on this forum. She absolutely sizzled with enthusiasm, and made a difficult opportunity become a reality for her buyers. I had an accepted offer for my listed home on Prince Royal Drive. She provided the needed tenacity to push a backup offer with contingency my way, compelling enough to present to my clients.     • If you're toying with the idea of becoming a home owner in Marin County, then you should read this review. And if you weren't already thinking about buying a home in this beautiful part of the Bay Area, then you will want to do just that after I have introduced you to our fabulous real estate agent Candace Nordstrom:Via my colleague's wife's business partner we were introduced to Candace Nordstrom, who right away took it upon herself to find us our dream home. Since we'd already spent countless hours online looking for homes, we had a pretty good idea what our budget would get us and what the current inventory looks like. And so when Candace asked us what kind of house we'd be looking for, we sent her a few links to the kinds of houses that we liked. Amongst these was a link to a property that we'd already cast an eye on for quite some time, but that - sadly - had disappeared from the listing only a couple days earlier. In no time, Candace got back to us with an elaborate itinerary for the upcoming weekend...and amongst the list of houses that we were to see was the property that had been removed from listing. We really couldn't believe our eyes when we noticed this and Candace explained that she'd taken the liberty to get in touch with the seller's agent and arranged for us to visit the house. Turns out, the property had been un-listed as it hadn't sold quickly enough...What's that all about, we wondered!?!On that Saturday morning we rented a ZipCar and drove over the Golden Gate Bridge to meet Candace at a local Starbucks and soon after we dashed off in her RAV4 to see the houses on her list. While we were driving through the windy roads of the Mill Valley hills, Candace told us all about the local property market: which areas are desirable or less desirable and for what reasons, such as good school districts, frequently-fogged-in areas, etc. And when we arrived at the first property, we could tell that Candace and our tastes are in sync...Later that day, we arrived at the ominous house that had been taken away from the market because it wouldn't sell...and needless to say, we were curious to see what was wrong with it. Yet, as soon as we entered the place we lost our doubts and immediately knew that this would be our future home! In awe, we walked through the house and couldn't believe our eyes that it was still for sale! So...what's wrong with it, you probably want to know? - Well, Mill Valley is a family-oriented area and the house isn't quite family-friendly with its loft-style interior. Afterwards, we dutifully visited the other houses on the list, but the giggly feeling in our stomachs remained and despite (or maybe because of) only having seen the house for a mere 10 minutes, we put down an offer the next day. And the rest is history...But there's so much more to Candace than only introducing us to our dream home. Here's 10 reasons why Candace should be your agent if you decide to buy (or sell) a home in Marin County:1) We completely trusted Candace! She's a sales person by profession, but at no time during the process did we feel that she was doing things to make a buck.2) She was always very patient with us and walked us through every step of the process. (And trust me, sometimes I need things to be explained a few times over!)3) She presents all the facts, so that you can make an informed choice: In other words, she doesn't sugar-coat things. For example, the house that we ended buying is in the woods and she was very frank about the fact that it could be potentially foggy and dark. (Which in the end it is not the case...)4) Candace is very detail oriented. A good example is that she colour-coded the inspection itinerary for us and even built in a lunch break!5) Speaking of inspections: for all the inspections she sourced top-professionals so that we not only felt comfortable with our decision, but also had a good idea of what kind of home-improvement projects we would have to address in the future.6) She is honest: at first we wanted to look at both Mill Valley and San Francisco properties, but Candace right away said that her competence lies within Marin County only. 7) Candace fights for you, but she's respectful to the buyers at the same time. 8) She's very down-to-earth, which we could tell right away when she arrived in her RAV4 and not in some fancy-schmancy car. 9) She's always available and responds to every email and text ASAP!10) She's generous: as a house-warming gift, Candace gave us a bunch of vouchers for local businesses in our new neighbourhood: Bungalow 44, Phat's Pearl Burger, Nocci Ice Cream, The Throckmorton Theatre, Alpha Dog... We especially loved the latter touch and since we've moved in, we've already used up much of the vouchers.
