Cynthia Tompkins

Cindy Tompkins is a lifelong resident of Sumter County. Upon graduating from South Sumter High School in 1969, Cindy went to work in the private sector. She then went on to work for the Sumter County School System as a bus driver. After working for the School System for 10 years, Cindy then worked with Sumter County Solid Waste for 18 years. Cindy has been married to her best friend and husband, Mike, for 20 years. She is the proud mother of one son, Kenny Hunt. Kenny lives in Lake Panasoffkee, with his wonderful wife and two beautiful children. Cindy is involved in her community through her church. She helps in reaching out to others through the church’s various programs. Some of the programs the church provides are the Hope Center where food and clothes are distributed to the needy, the pregnancy center where assistance and guidance is given to unwed or single parents, and through mission trips. The mission trips are not only to other countries but to help people here in the United States.
