- Jen helped me buy a home
I’ve purchased two homes through Jen. Both transactions were effortless for me and both properties have grown nicely in value.
- Jen listed and sold my home
An utmost professional and the most knowledgeable realtor I have worked with. Jen and her team were patient, consistent and knew exactly how to work with us a seller's and the buyers. I have bought two houses with Jen and sold three. I would recommend her and her team a thousand times over. Her experience far exceeds what you would expect from a realtor. No question that she knows what she is doing.
- Jen listed and sold my home
Jen is awesome! She’s professional, experienced and completely attuned to my needs/wants as a client. Her communication was clear and impeccable.
- Jen listed, but didn't sell, my home
I do not like writing reviews like this, but I feel this is necessary so others don't get hurt financially due to this woman. I would NOT recommend working with Jen Stein if you are listing your home for sale. She is one of the worst agents I've ever worked with in my career of selling over 200 homes. Not only was she way out of her league selling our homes, she presented herself with more experience than she had selling new construction development projects. Her self-given title of CEO gives you an idea of the ego that got in her way of realizing she doesn't have the skillset or experience to perform on a project at this level. She hired a photographer that she had never worked with before and the entire media package turned out terrible. Thank god, one of the agents in her office came in and took the lead after she made mistake after mistake. Our team ended up paying for the new media because she didn't have the financial resources to correct the mistake. The listing was during the pandemic in 2020. So when we couldn't get any action on the sales side, we decided to try to lease the homes. However, Jen reported zero traffic and activity on the leasing side after we had several of our friends secret shop the properties for lease. She lied to us on our weekly updates about the leasing activity which clearly showed her motivation on this project was her own financial outcome. In addition, she moved to Santa Barbara during the listing period and didn't tell us she was working remotely from another city! Regardless of her excuse for leaving the city, she continued business without disclosing that to us. Not only did Jen Stein not fulfill her fiduciary responsibility to us as a client on many levels, but she was rude and ridiculed the other vendors we had on the team. Her true colors came out when she was under pressure. On top of that, when we went to cancel the listing agreement, she fought us with lawsuit threats that didn't hold up with any merit because she never signed and returned the extension agreement before we rescinded it. She filled out an extension agreement with an 18 month term (crazy!) and tried to get us to sign it. However, we crossed out and initialed that along with other mistakes on the contract with initials and sent it to her signed. She never returned the fully executed copy with her signature before we rescinded our offer. She lacked the basic understandings of how contract law works and couldn't own up and get past her failings on our project due to her ego. She demanded that we reimbursed her for all her marketing expenses through her attorney and was ruthless about getting every penny back. I think we wrote her a check for $500 just to make her go away, which she deposited immediately. She might be able to do a decent job as a buyer's agent if you can double check her work on the contracts, but I would not recommend listing your property with her.
