More about Jim Smith
My first career, before real estate, was journalism. I was trained at the Washington Post in 1968, and I published community newspapers in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Denver (where I grew up as a child) in 1991. In 1997 I moved to Golden to be closer to the mountains, and in 2002 I became a licensed real estate agent and Realtor. I have used my journalism skills to build my real estate career, writing a weekly real estate column which is published every Thursday in the Jefferson County editions of the Denver Post. These columns are archived on my website. Writing them has been a self-enforced continuing education program, because each column requires research on the topic I''m writing about. I love Golden and have chosen to specialize here. Although I will represent buyers throughout the Denver metro area, I will only list homes within 15 minutes of my home and office so that I can properly service them.
