- Lisa helped me buy a home
It was our first home purchase. Lisa made us feel like family and was there to answer any and all questions.
- Lisa and I connected, but did no business
Lisa was the listing agent we worked with to try to purchase a home. The home we were under contract for was 8066 Broad St. We asked questions like was the electrical updated- to which the answer came back from her as "yes"...this house has been remodeled and updated...so we proceeded with going under contract.we read over the disclosures which stated no major issues.. roof is fine, no water intrusion etc...so, we had an inspection done...which came back with 94 pages of MAJOR things wrong with this house. Most if not all facia and soffit is rotted, there are 6 layers of shingles on the roof, water coming in everywhere, but you don't know cause they painted to cover it up- inspector saw it, asbestos tape on the duct work, knob and tube wiring open on the insulation, exhaust to oil furnace has fell down leaking fumes under the house and the pipe has rusted out, water washing away the foundation under the porch, sagging ceiling on the porch due to water intrusion, multiple signs of leaks all over the house and in the main floor bath. Rusted hot water heater inside and out. The gutters are wired up since the facia is rotted. This just the tip of the ice berg with the problems....but my biggest one is that they were dishonest on the disclosures, and we asked for our due diligence $$ back and they said it really wasn't that bad of a problem list. I understand due diligence is non- refundable, but in this case where the seller/realtor was blatantly misleading...i think it was the right thing to do...even if they just gave part... the bad thing is they tricked us into giving them the inspection report by saying they had no idea anything was wrong and they needed to see it for proof...then they placed the house right back on the market and told us they didn't think there was really very much wrong with the house. Every contractor and friend I have consulted advised us to walk...just saying...
