- Shana helped me buy a home
I meet Shana at the open house she was hosting for the listing agent (who I didn't know was her boss at the time) She told me that the house will not last; saying she could represent me as the "buyer's agent", since it was not her listing. Little did I know that she had grown up with the Seller on the same street, constantly communicating with the Seller directly, and that her concerns were to please the Seller and her boss (the listing agent). Anyhow, the worst part is, she decides to go away for a 1 week vacation without even telling me; during the inspection period. After 1 full day of trying to call/text her nonstop, and contacting another agent in her office.... she finally answer me, telling me she's on vacation. Also, she doesn't bother sending another realtor (on her behalf) to the inspection, because of her absence. Ofcourse, realtors have the right to take vacations. But they don't have the right not to tell their clients, and not to have another realtor act on their behalf in their absence. When I asked for a price reduction during the inspection period, she tried to talk me out of it; convincing me that the house was worth it. The tough part was convincing Shana to ask the Seller. I finally told her that she has no right to refuse to deliver my Letter to the Seller. Finally, she delivers it the Seller; (ofcourse she's been calling/texting the Seller along the way), and they honor a price reduction. Shana worked with the Seller, and crafted a sneaky sentence that basically says "if i do something that is impossible to do, because it's not allowed period". "The Seller will not ask for a refund of overpaid taxes".... Wait a minute, it's impossible to overpay taxes in Coventry. Thanks for helping me negotiate Shana (or rather helping the Seller negotiate; and offer me something which is impossible to do). Unfortunately, I found this out at closing; from the attorney. While Shana lived her whole life in Coventry, she claimed to "not know" that. She also refused to try contacting the Seller to re-negotiate, because she was on her side. Does the story get better? Yes, it does. When Shana was on her 1 week vacation, she wasn't alone.... She was with her boss (the listing agent). Please do yourself a favor; and work with a different realtor! Or just work without a realtor; but don't work with one who will work against you.
