The largest share of buyers paid the full asking price (33%), followed by buyers who paid 95%\u201399% of the asking price (29%).<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.realtor\/research-and-statistics\/housing-statistics\/existing-home-sales\">inventory and home sales both seeing a decline<\/a>, 2025 buyers have greater leverage when it comes to pricing. NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said, \u201cMultiple years of undersupply are driving the record high home price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a slower market, homes frequently appraise for more than the sale price, which is what we\u2019re seeing play out now. Although inventory is improving, the market remains in favor of sellers, making <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homelight.com\/blog\/comps-for-my-house\/\">comparable sales<\/a> (or comps) harder to come by.
