According to the NAR\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.realtor\/research-and-statistics\/research-reports\/home-buyer-and-seller-generational-trends\">2026 Home Buyers and Sellers Generational Trends report<\/a>, 10% of Younger Millennial sellers sold for 101% to 110% of list price, and 11% sold for more than 110% of list price.<\/p>\n<p>Although inventory is increasing, housing availability remains a market constraint. NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said, \u201cThe median home price rose to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.realtor\/infographics\/existing-home-sales-housing-snapshot\">a new record high<\/a> for the month of March [2026]. That price growth has helped the typical homeowner accumulate $128,100 in housing wealth over the past six years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a slower market, homes frequently appraise for more than the sale price, which is what we\u2019re seeing play out now.
