For some, renting after selling can be the perfect way to avoid the rush to find a new place \u2014 especially if you\u2019re in a seller\u2019s market<\/a> with low inventory and fierce buyer competition. Here are just a few reasons you might choose to rent after selling your home:<\/p>\n

According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) 2025 Home Buyers and Sellers Generational Trends Report<\/a>, buyers typically searched for 10 weeks and viewed a median of seven homes.<\/p>\n

Younger Millennials (aged 26 to 34) and the Silent Generation (aged 79 to 99) had the shortest search at eight weeks. The Silent Generation took only one week of searching before contacting an agent, and viewed fewer homes on average.
