This is why, in some circles, you\u2019ll still hear floor-to-ceiling wood paneling called \u201cwainscot,\u201d especially if it is made from oak.<\/p>\n In the past few decades, however, it has become generally accepted that paneling refers to floor-to-ceiling panels applied to interior walls, whether made from wood, marble, or other materials.
