First, you need to determine if your curb appeal needs to be improved and if it\u2019s worth the investment. If your yard stands out because it looks like an overgrown jungle, then you\u2019ll definitely need to do some work. However, if it already looks well-maintained and presentable<\/a>, then buyers will feel welcomed and want to see more.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it\u2019s in their budget, I would always recommend that [sellers] create something that shows the least amount of maintenance that needs to be maintained by someone buying the home,\u201d says Gardiner.<\/p>\n

Homebuyers typically don\u2019t want to see multiple garden beds and weeds that represent a lot of work, so Gardiner will recommend some hardscape if it\u2019s within the seller\u2019s budget.<\/p>\n
