According to top Virginia agent Walter Grewe<\/a> of Roanoke, you can expect to pay between 4%-6% in agent commissions when selling a home in Virginia, with some variation based on location within the state. On a property worth the current statewide median home sale price of \u00a0$391,000<\/a>, that amounts to $15,640\u2013$23,460 in commission costs.<\/p>\n

However, Grewe, who has 17 years of experience, says he has seen sellers pay a set monetary amount instead of a percentage.<\/p>\n
