According to the S&amp;P CoreLogic Case-Shiller National Home Price Index, house prices across the whole of the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/fred.stlouisfed.org\/series\/CSUSHPINSA\">have climbed 47%<\/a> since the beginning of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this sharp increase in prices, homeowners have built substantial<a href=\"https:\/\/www.homelight.com\/blog\/what-is-home-equity\/\"> equity<\/a> in their properties, which can be used to finance new properties, make home improvements, pay off debt, or save for retirement. As of early 2024, ICE Mortgage Monitor reported that the average mortgage-holding homeowner holds approximately<a
