So the mistake is not hiring the right representation \u2014 the right Realtor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe biggest mistake I see sellers make right now is clinging to yesterday\u2019s market,\u201d says <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.homelight.com\/agents\/kris-bowen-ut-hl1516154\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kris Bowen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a Salt Lake City, Utah, agent with 22 years of experience. \u201cThey look at what their neighbor sold for a year or two ago and assume they\u2019ll get the same, if not more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bowen adds that when a home is not prepared and marketed properly, or is overpriced,\u00a0 it quickly becomes stale. \u201cOnce a property lingers, buyers start wondering what\u2019s wrong with it, and the end result is often a lower net than if it had been priced correctly from the start.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Not being patient, persistent, or flexible<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPersistence pays off,\u201d says <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.homelight.com\/agents\/jackie-sawyer-me-ba922770\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jackie Sawyer,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a Sebago, Maine agent with a 100% sell rate on her listings. \u201cDon&#8217;t be afraid to change strategy throughout the process.
