My family and I were looking for a single family home to buy in Chaffee County. We signed with Adriana De Anda to be our buyers agent. She only showed us one property. A home being built in Poncha Springs. With inventory low and interest rates on the rise we trusted her and decided that’s the direction we would go. At this point she started to disappear and when confronted with questions she said to ask a lawyer. Questions that a buyer’s agent should answer. After 2 month’s we found out why she was acting peculiarly, we got our contract and she was representing the builder. She was lying to us all along. It’s also illegal. Which is being looked into now. Her inexperienced builder. He was in business only months and had no idea how to write the contract. The house wasn’t finished, yet he wanted a contract signed with an inspection done in 5 days. With buying new, and not listed, there are certain guarantees you don’t get. So after months of anticipating and thinking we had found a home, we had no choice but to back out. Now, in a more competitive market and interest rates rising we are thrown back into the market because of the lies, manipulation, and hubris of Adriana De Anda. See if she can tell you different.This was a horrible situation to be in and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I will say, Susan, the owner did try to make this right and agreed with our assessment.
