More about Adriana Montes
I found my first job by someone from church who recommended me with Alamo Rental Car to be a sales person. I barely spoke English but I was in the front counter renting cars and selling additional services right and left not because people understood what I was saying but because I had a great positive playful persistent attitude. I was 18 years old working 4 days a week making 70k a year and going to University full time. I started my Bachelors in Finance and Marketing at ucf and Alamo they had a tuition reimbursement program and since I got excellent grades, A, Alamo rental car paid for my bachelor’s degree. I graduated with honors and was admitted to a program called Honors in the Major where I wrote a thesis on Rolling Stocks! That’s what I call taking the doors of opportunity that God opens for you! Then after my graduation, in 2003, I decided to get my mortgage license. I left Alamo and worked for a mortgage company for 1 year where I learned how to originate loans, I loved the numbers and the art of putting a deal together. Then, in 2004 I opened my own mortgage company, Door to your Dreams Mortgage. I then got my real estate license in 2004 and my insurance license in 2005. I also opened a financial services company, Door to your Dreams Financial Services. My dream was to have a conglomerate of companies related to Finance. In 2008, as a big believer in education, I also decided to obtain my Masters in Business Administration, but I gave it a twist. I wanted to give back to my community, so I chose a specialization in non-profit organizations. Since then, I have been very active in the community and have been volunteering with the Central Florida Food Bank and the Coalition for the Homeless. I also had a radio show in a hispanic radio station for 10 years where I promoted homeownership, talked about real estate, and back then which is when the banks imploded in 2008, I spoke about the benefits of doing a short sale versus going into foreclosure. In 2012, I also challenged myself to get a Juris Doctorate, Law Degree, not because I wanted to become an attorney and switch careers to a law career but because I wanted to keep my family legal legacy of my grandfather who was a judge in Colombia and no one yet had embraced his legal legacy. So as I was handling a real estate company during the super busy times of the foreclosure boom while I was going to law school at night. I also wanted to provide a higher and different value for my clients, by having the legal knowledge. And law school was hard enough but then the bar exams experience came and those were 2 years of my life from 2016 to 2018 where I tuned up my skills of perseverance, determination, and focus. Passing the bar exams was hard! Through my real estate career, I have also made my own investments. I am a big believer that real estate is the best vehicle to accumulate wealth and become financially independent. I became a real estate investor, as a flipper, buying, fixing, and selling and as a landlord, buying, fixing, holding, and renting.
