I found Clearwater Beach by accident about 30 years ago. My family was taking a trip to Disney World from Chicago and we looked to extend our trip to the beach. Our family fell in love with the Clearwater area and we came back year after year. It became our “go to” spot to get away from those cold winters in Northern Illinois. After our children were grown, we bought a home in Clearwater and moved here full time in the early 2000’s. I entered into the real estate profession during one of the biggest downturns Florida had seen in 2005. The area had been hit hard by dropping prices, foreclosures and long sales cycles. In today’s Real Estate market, so many of the sales are foreclosures or “Short Sales” which require additional expertise on the part of your Realtor.
