  • Anita listed, but didn't sell, my home

      My siblings and I contracted with Anita Sanderford for 9 months to sell our parent’s home last fall. She never produced a single offer in writing during the entire time. Initially she suggested the house be completely empty and then about 4 months into the process she suggested staging the home after we had completely emptied and distributed the contents. She rarely initiated contact and did not respond to communication in a timely manner. She would not hold an open house, did not put the for sale sign out on Friday as expected on a few occasions that we observed, and did not check on the property as evidenced by lights being left on, gates unlatched and toilets not flushed. Her primary marketing strategy was posting the property on line and reducing the sale price. She did invite other realtors to view the property. This was an estate property and the house sat on the market the entire 9 months incurring costs - insurance, pest control contract, utilities and taxes. At one point near the end of the contract, Anita took the listing off line and re-posted it without our knowledge. We signed with another local realtor after researching options and the house was under contract in a week and sold in less than 2 months. We would not recommend working with Anita Sanderford.
