BJ Brown

I was born and raised in Bledsoe County, graduating High School in 1976. At an early age, I was introduced to working with the public. My father owned and operated a small service station. (NOTE: "There was a Gas War in the late '60's. Gas at our pump was 39 cents per gallon. There were Long Lines for hours as we had Full Service back then.") In the late 60's and early 70's, my Mom owned and operated a Drive-In Restaurant called Martha's Drive Inn . My sister, Debbie and I were Car-Hops. Mom and my brother, Rick, were the cooking staff. We stayed open until 1:00 AM on weekends and stayed very busy! (NOTE: At that time, you could buy a Hamburger Steak Dinner with Fries, Salad, Rolls, a Drink and free re-fills for $1.25.
