Why Can You Rely on Me? First of all, I know this area well. I was in born in Rockford and have lived most of my life in Loves Park and Machesney Park. I was raised in a family that valued the investment of real estate. I graduated from Harlem High School in 1993. I married a high school friend, Tracy Torres Shields, and currently reside in Machesney Park. We went away for schooling, started careers outside of the area for short periods, and came back because this is our home. Secondly, I am invested in this community. My focus is not to be passive with how my community grows and wait to see what it becomes, but to be proactive in making a difference in my community.
