Most of the people writing reviews here seem to be about one tenth of my age. They shouldn't be allowed out on the street. So let me add some summary gravitas from the ancients: what they all said.So you have your first clue: intergenerational skills. Breylan respects my wrinkles and where they came from. More importantly, he listens, and he reads body language. I suspect it took him 37 seconds to figure out that as a somewhat experienced property investor I was 100% ready to bail from the fizzy Portland market, the instant the least little thing irked me. He put together a tour that exactly matched my need to absorb a spectrum of properties and think about them from lots of angles. He provided background and detail when it was requested, and as he got bolder, began to provide it slightly before I requested it. He figured out what I knew and didn't need to be told, and what I didn't know and how to let me know it without getting himself injured. He made me laugh, and even better, he appeared to think I was funny. I'm actually hilarious, but funny works.Professionalism during all this: over the top. Every question answered. No pushing. Every email answered almost AS I hit Send. Every text, same. (Does this man have no life?) Small bidding war, handled. Won. Inspection, handled. Documents, zero errors, any explanation I needed given promptly. From doubting I'd buy anything till closing a sale? 8 days.His background in escrow is invaluable, even as all the rules and details seem to be changing -- I mean, seriously, 8 days???Breylan is the best. Do not question these wrinkles.

I couldn't speak more highly of Breylan. When we bought our home we had a rather large number of projects to manage and bids to get after our initial inspection. Breylan went WAY above and beyond booking, meeting and managing all of these bids for us. I have a toddler and had a second baby between the time of our offer and closing and couldn't have been more grateful for his organization, outstanding communication and general knowledge throughout the entire process.Our subsequent sale of our previous home went just as smoothly. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the market and knew exactly what was needed to facilitate a VERY quick and easy sale.It was obvious throughout the process that Breylan has a tremendous passion for real estate as well as for people. We sought Breylan out after a bad experience with the first realtor we tried and we could not have chosen better than him!Breylan is, first of all, a great realtor. He contributed properties we had not seen, adjusted when properties missed the mark, and was amazing through the whole process. I also found Breylan to be knowledgeable regarding home mortgage loans and he steered us clear of a few potential issues with financing falling through by informing me of details my lender had neglected to. I can't say enough great things about Breylan. My husband and I connected with him pretty early on in the process of buying our first home. It was an all around daunting experience, but we were extremely lucky we had Breylan's support from the start.He patiently guided us through the process, answered all our countless questions speedily (email responses were typically within 15 min or less), and stayed in touch with us daily on new listings. Breylan went above and beyond from the start. During the initial meeting, Breylan spent over an hour and a half on a Saturday to find out what we were looking for and to educate us on the overall process of home buying since this was our first experience. He was always supportive and never pushy with the process. Breylan was prompt with all communications, even when we did not expect him to be (like when he was on vacation, and shouldn't be working). He thought of potential problems we might encounter and solved them before they became an issue. Not only is he very professional, he is also very personable. Breylan has a great sense of humor and a calming presence which comes in handy when home buying becomes stressful. We couldn't have asked for a better agent and highly recommend him!

I would give Breylan 10 stars if there were more to give. We interviewed him on Skype, since we were moving from out of town, and he was able to accommodate our schedule and show houses on weekends. Breylan is very organized and detail-oriented. He was always ready with a list of to-see properties when we arrived, and he always prearranged the best route for showing to maximize the use of our time in town. He knows Portland neighborhoods very well and explained to us what we should expect and look out for. To top it all, he drove us around in his car for the showing, which service we didn't get to enjoy buying our previous home. During the offer and closing process, he kept us informed and sane. He knows good people, from lending agents to home inspectors. He even stayed for the entire duration of the inspection, noted every detail, and made a second trip for us for the radon reading. We could have done it without being in town at all. We knew from the start that buying a home is a time consuming and stressful process, but Breylan has provided us the best help there is in the field. He certainly won't be making decisions for you, but he would help you make informed choices. Am I glad we have picked him!

Breylan was absolutely outstanding. He thought of things to do before issues came up, he had connections to service folks in the area for inspection repairs and contacted them on our behalf, with lightning speed. He is thoughtful, sharp and truly cares about his clients.Breylan helped my partner sell his house, after he had used another agency that failed in every manner. Let me start by saying that if you are buying or selling a home, you need Breylan on your team. We were referred by great friends of ours who we knew wouldn't steer us wrong, and Breylan only exceeded expectations.We first met with him in January when we were considering selling. He came prepared with the former listing for our home, neighborhood comps, and examples of selling brochures. We quickly learned that this is par for the course with Breylan: he is always prepared and does his research when he works with you.We asked him to do a walk-through with us to let us know what we should invest in terms of cosmetic upgrades or repairs. He was 100% honest with us about what would give us a good return, what could wait, and what was critical. Needless to say, we had little idea of the amount of steps needed to buy a house.We were referred to Jake by a family member, and we got a few realtors from Jake. Breylan responded within hours to my email to meet up and see homes. We sent a few links back and forth on what we liked and what was available. Jake and Breylan chatted about our price point and probable loan amount. We met a few days later for coffee and our first tour. That night we put in an offer on the 4th house we saw that day. The next morning our offer was accepted (and beat out another offer!!).We were at the house during the inspection that Breylan set up- and he uses great people. Breylan is one of a kind. If you are seeking a PROFESSIONAL, RELIABLE, HONEST agent look no further. We started our search back in November of 2014. I started like most first time home buyers going to open houses and meeting agents that were either uninterested assistants or pushy agents.
