  • Brian showed me homes

We were referred to Brian by Jeff Andress (Jeff helped us sell our townhouse a few years prior). Brian was great at showing us numerous properties in Dallas. However we did not find any that were a good fit. Eventually my husband and I decided to go with new construction in the suburbs. We found a home and negotiated with the builder completely on our own. We made the mistake of listing Brian as our agent with the builder even though Brian had not been involved at all. Brian saw the house for the first time when he dropped by the contract signing to make sure he was getting his commission. Then he sent out postcards to our new neighbors stating that he "sold" our house to us! If we had purchased a house that he had shown to us, he totally would have earned his commission. However in this case, he was paid for work that he didn't do and then took credit for a sale when it was the builders agent who actually sold the house. He is a very nice person and was probably just trying to establish himself in a competitive industry. Unfortunately it came at our expense.
