I am Dennis Maakestad, a Realtor with Century 21 Elsner Realty in DeKalb, IL. I've been a Realtor in DeKalb County since 1980 and hope I can put my years of experience to work for you!!
A bit of my history: I grew up in Dixon, IL and then came to DeKalb to attend NIU. After graduating from NIU with a business degree in 1973, I knew in my heart that I really wanted to teach so I returned to NIU and did some graduate work in education along with my student teaching. In 1974 I earned my teaching certification from the state of Illinois and was hired to teach in the middle grades at Kings, IL. I loved teaching, but felt a need to supplement my income and have a good job for the summer months so I took real estate classes and became licensed as a Realtor in 1980.
