I JUST BOUGHT A CASTLE!!!!! Through our Veteran in Real EstateBuying a house takes time until its time to buy!SO you need an agent wholl take the time to shop with you and then will pull it together fast when the moment comes. Not a fixer upper but a dresser upper..It just needed some finishing touches. With Parties in 4 states Derrick put it together in a few hours. He ordered the inspection, engineer, furniture estimate, a pool review. There was a round of haggling but he brought it in under market and closed in ten days. After closing Derrick took me to the Electric company, the cable company and the water company. Then for an early lunch at a great Keys hideaway(Ask derrick whichLOL) As I write pelicans strut along the dock waiting for us to bring in fish in today:??) Derrick sent me a letter (I thank my lucky stars I didn't throw it away!) back in June or July of 2012 when he discovered that my house was going into foreclosure and asked if I would be interested in selling it in a short sale. I told him I would love to but that I had moved back to the mountains to be closer to my family and couldn't take off work from my new job. "Not a problem" he said. I gave him my phone number and email address so he could keep me up to date and he went to work. Derrick contacted my mortgage company and came up with an amount that would satisfy my loan, took pictures of the property inside and out, put up signs and posted on several real estate sites on the internet (even made it available online just by entering the address!), and arranged to show the house to prospective buyers, and dealt with my ex who was still living in the house right up until three days before the closing! From beginning to end, Derrick kept me informed through phone calls and emails, answered any questions I had from the loan company (they were still sending me foreclosure notices even after they new it was in the short sale process!), lowering the price on the property as needed until he a found buyer, and priority-mailed closing contract less than a week before foreclosure sale was slated. And so, after 10 months of hard work and diligence, the house has sold! I cannot thank you enough, Derrick, for everything but most of all, for not giving up even when you knew that you probably weren't going to be compensated. You have restored my faith in humanity in these extremely uncertain times! If you're thinking of buying or selling in the Florida Keys, Derrick Johnson is the man you want to see! Derrick did a wonderful job of helping us in our home search in Marathon. Derrick Johnson is a professional Real Estate Agent who goes above and beyond being just an Agent!! He has a great personality and is great to work with and without a doubt loves his work. After getting in touch with him about moving to Fl., he asked us many questions about what type of home we wanted and if there was anything that we did not want in our new home. We had not even thought of that before. It was a great idea. Whenever we called him he was always available and if we had to leave a message he called us back very quickly. My husband is a veteran and so is Derrick and they bonded very quickly!! Derrick went out his way to put us in contact with a couple that was willing to rent to us on a month to month bases including allowing us to have our dog and three cats. Derrick was right there the day we moved into our rental house and we started driving around looking at houses that he had talked to us about. We found one that same day and Derrick arranged for us to look at the home the next day. He had done research on other homes in this area that were similar to the home that we were looking at cost wise. So he knew the market very well and in suggesting a bid that the owners would accept. He even put us in touch with a inspector to do our home inspection. We closed on our new home in FL., one month to the day that we closed on our home in Virginia. I have shopped for a "Keys" place for more than 4 years. Spoke to and met with numerous brokers all of whom had their own virtues. Derrick however, made a difference with his willingness to address my ultimate desire for a private mortgage. He negotiated it and a deal was made for a place with 2 bedrooms, a pool and a dock.... When he found a place he thought I like he described it. A half hour later to better show me he went to the condo to video a walk through.
