Prior to my becoming a Realtor, I was a high school English teacher. I loved that career, but I left it, temporarily I thought, when our daughters were born. Several years later when teaching jobs were very scarce, a friend actually suggested that I “try” real estate since I was always studying the classified ads and property transfer articles. That was in 1984. Shortly after that I discovered that I loved the business. Even today, 30+ years later, I still enjoy marketing properties and helping people buy and sell the homes of their dreams. The business certainly has changed. No MLS books. Instead we rely on computers, digital cameras, smart phones and every other kind of technological gadget we can get our hands on.
