Felicia Farrar

I grew up in Durham, NC and attended Hillside High School. After graduation from UNC at Chapel Hill, I left for New York City to pursue a career as a fashion designer. After working with a fashion house for 18 months, I decided to venture out on my own and started Felicia Farrar Designs. I sold garments to the major department stores like Macy's, Saks, Bloomingdales and Lord and Taylor and specialty stores like Bergdorf, Barney's, etc. I even opened my own store in Soho, NY. My gowns were worn by many celebrities like Elizabeth Shue, Gillian Anderson, Faith Hill, Nancy Glass, Lynn Whitfield, Patricia Arquette….just to name a few. In 2004, I purchased a home in Durham. After spending some time here renovating the house, I realized that I didn't want to leave. I fell in love with what my hometown had become and that love made me move back here permanently.
