I bought a 1939 home in South Tower Grove Park in St. Louis. I moved here from Arizona and hired him because he had a contractor background and I was concerned about things I needed to be careful of when buying an older home. Gary did very little in regards to being a realtor - he never recommended homes. He just signed me up on a listing service and let me do the work. So, I found my own house. He never recommended a lateral sewer inspection, which I knew nothing about. In Arizona, you don't deal with issues like this so I would have not known what it was. He arranged a building inspection with a complete idiot who never recommended it either. In my ignorance, I lived in the house for three months until the sewer began to back up. I was forced to replace the entire sewer system at a total cost of $11,555 and that does not include the cost of hotels, lost wages, and the restoration cleaning and repainting of the basement floor. He denied this to his supervisor at Coldwell Banker, which does not surprise me. He has caused me great grief - financially and emotionally. I would NEVER recommend this man to anyone. He's more concerned about turning properties fast and less concerned about being a buyer's agent to his customers. You are better off pulling a stranger off the street than hire this man. There are thousands of Realtors in St. Louis. Find someone else.
