I strongly recommend NOT going through Helen or Simple Home Realty. Helen has been nothing but difficult during our process of trying to rent a home. I feel she has discriminated against me for having an ESA, although I am protected by law. She said she would be relaying that information to the owner who has the "final say", although that information should NOT be going into decision making for rental approval. The fact that she is not familiar with the Fair Housing Amendment of 1998, but claims to have been in realty for over 15 years is a HUGE red flag. I also feel she has discriminated against me and my housemates for our age, as she said the perfect renting candidate would be a childless older couple -- not multiple young adults. She also demanded that EVERY individual (or at least 3 of 5) see the home IN-PERSON before being considered "applied". She would NOT allow virtual showing during COVID, even if one housemate went and video called the rest. She would not budge. We all live across the country! Her excuse was that the house could smell like curry and we would want to break the lease.. Even after we had all agreed to fly across country for an in-person showing, she avoided all phone calls to set up the showing. Helen COMPLETELY lacks compassion and professionalism. This has been an extremely discouraging experience during a time that is supposed to be exciting and hopeful. Horrible realtor. Horrible company. I would give Zero stars if possible.
