John Berger

John is a true real estate professional. He has a lot of local knowledge both of properties and of consultants needed to expedite the closing process. John is methodical and detail oriented and is measured in his approach. I would definitely recommend him to people looking to settle in Hampton Roads.

Mr. Berger was recommended by me to a friend and I highly recommend him to anyone else as well. He is friendly, professional, but perhaps most impressively, he is in depth knowledge of the real estate market, process, and value. This knowledge comes from many years of experience he has spent working in the area along side his wife who also is in the business. Trying previously with a different Realtor, John showed a night and day difference from your average agent to a seasoned professional. I did not live in Virginia when I began the search for a house in the Tidewater region, thus needed a highly capable and extremely knowledgable broker to help identify the locations and houses where we would be comfortable. John more than met those criteria, and was able to show us over 30 locations that met the the conditions that we had established for our selection. Further, while being highly sensitive to our target spending range, he was also transparent in what that would (and would not) purchase. When we found the house that we were looking for, John did an outstanding job in negotiating the deal on our behalf, and the result was that we purchased the home of our dreams in a location that we love, for a very fair price. My wife and I chose John because of his brochure that shows the house listing. It is the best advertising brochure that I have ever seen. We had moved out of our home and it was bare. John had the rooms digitally displayed in the brochure and it looked real. The time for listing and actually closing out was less than 5 months. John was great at negotiating and taking care of the small things that come up at closing. We certainly recommend John because of his experience and professionalism. We enjoyed working with him.

John was a tremendous resource and help when we needed to sell our home. He was professional every step of the way and helped to guide us through a long and arduous short sale. We are a military family and no longer resided in Hampton Roads, but we could trust that everything was being taken care of professionally and punctually. John's wife, Lisa, also works with him as a property manager and she is great.
