Karen and her team were amazing and spot on with their analysis of the market and what we should expect in terms of time to sell our home given it's condition and the price point we were entering the market. Karen handled herself in a very professional manner and kept me well informed dealing with any and all the issues presented to me from the listing to the closing of the property. I will certainly go back to her as my Realtor in the future if/when the opportunity arises.

Karen Shumate was the realtor of what was our first home in Houston for ten (10) years. We were very attached to our home. I came across Karen's name as she had recently sold another property in our neighborhood at the time. I contacted Karen and she was very prompt in responding to my email inquiry. We first had a phone interview and then she met us at our home one evening. She provided us with comps in our neighborhood and suggested to us what we could comfortably sell our home for without having to reduce the price after being on the market. She did a walk through of our home and told us items or things we needed to touch-up and/or repair, or de-clutter. Her photographer does a great job with pictures as well too. They are of quality and very bright and welcoming. Needless to say, we had two offers on our home within the first three days it was on the market. My husband and I were stunned and actually was still in a debate of whether we wanted to sell or lease our home. Karen always provided us with options along the way if we were to decide with going the other direction. Now, any realtor would want the SELL, but Karen did not pressure us either way and we appreciated her patience and professionalism. She would just always keep us mindful of our time frame in which we had to respond to the perspective buyers of our home. After much consideration, we decided to lease our home, and without hesitation/persuasion to sell, she switched to leasing mode and said we could use the same pictures and provided us the information needed for leasing. She suggested a leasing price per our neighborhood market, had one open house and we had our property leased within a few weeks. Karen knew me and my husband's personality so she knew if the prospective tenants would be a good fit or not. She even provided resources to us to help us make an informed decision on the tenant's application and for being future landlords. Karen is a jewel and highly recommended.

Karen Shumate's services were great!! She gave my family undivided attention during the entire home-buying process along with the selling of our current home at the time. We felt as if we were her only client and, of course, she had other clients than us. She is very thorough in paperwork and negotiations. She is definitely looking out for your best interest and not just for a quick sale!!! She points out the good AND the bad in each home and provide options/workarounds as food for thought. Karen was very patient and answered all of our questions. Karen showed us as many homes as we wanted and we never felt rushed to purchase anything. We for sure had a list of homes too!! She communicates very efficiently and via text, email, and/or phone calls. I also would send her messages after realtor business hours and she would promptly respond when I'm up late searching for homes I like as well. Also, if needed, she has a lot of good referrals for maintenance personnel and various home services. The Seller of our home was a bit challenging to work with, but Karen was steadfast and tenacious. She knew we really wanted the home so she proceeded to do everything in her power to negotiate and close the deal. Karen's services are second to none!!! Throughout our process, we became friends. She went far and beyond the call of duty as a realtor and my family and I are forever grateful. Even after closing the deal, we continue to email or text her questions here and there, and she still answers with promptness and detailed information.
