  • Karen Cake and I connected, but did no business

My best friend/roommate has known karen for years. So when my friend wanted to list her old house, Karen was originally interested in actually just buying it from her. Instead, Karen backed out last second and agreed to list it for my friend instead. Now this case is a bit unique, as the my friend is selling due to financial stress and therefore a reasonable deadline was established in which the house needed to sell to prevent foreclose. Being a good friend, Karen all but assured us that she would have the house sold in time. That deadline came and went. Karen spent thousands staging the home both inside and out but she didn't hold any open houses, she had a handful of walkthroughs she told us about. On average, Karen was taking anywhere from 48hrs to a week to respond to any progress. Essentially, she became all but out of contact. It would appear to the outsider looking in that Karen Gleason has no interest in selling this home. Karen was the first person interested, and I believe she still is. I believe she is actively waiting for the house to foreclose at which point she will purchase it at a much lower cost than had she previously followed thru on the original offer. Of course this is an assumption but there are plenty of facts in this story about Karen spending massive amounts of money for literally no return. One can only speculate if she had planned to screw over a good friend for personal financial gain. Either way, if this sounds like something you'd like to deal with, then I strongly suggest calling Karen Gleason today!
