Ever since my first visit to these mountains, I knew I had found my home. Never in my life had I visited a place with both breathtakingly beautiful scenery as well as some of the friendliest people. Everyone was smiling, strangers caught eye contact, people just seemed to really care. It was so special finding both stunning beauty and incredible kindness in one place. I bought my current home at the base of Grandfather Mountain in the spring of 2003, and my appreciation for this area has never stopped growing. With perfect mild temperatures in the summertime, a sea of autumn colors in the fall, snow for wintertime fun, quaint and artsy downtown areas, and a great sense of community, these Blue Ridge Mountains just seems to bring out the best in people.
