  • Lavert listed and sold my home

My experience with Lavert was pretty horrible. Communication was almost non existant. I requested open houses and was told no. He determined he would prequalify people wanting to look at my house. All of this was under the guise of making a quick sale. Not being a real estate agent myself I wonder why the selling agent wants fewer people to look at the house they are trying to sell. Communication improved temporarily after Incontacted the broker for the office, then it quick died off again. Luckily the housing market was moving so fast my house sold fast, even though I only received one offer and only 1 person saw the house. This experience felt like dealing with a con man or sleazy used car dealer, there were a lot of initial shortcomings and mistakes but there was also an excuse for each one and it was not their fault. For example my house went on the market late because the person who was going to put it on the market had a personal emergency... not to come off as heartless but does that mean if that person is sick the whole operation comes to a screeching halt?! Why was it not put on the market by someone else?! Also after we had a formal offer he would not talk to me until after the expiration time written on the offer. Luckily they honored it. He might have had more clients than he could reasonably handle and if that is the case he should have referred me to someone else. In hindsight I should have went with another agent and possibly another brokerage. Coldwell Banker has lost a customer for life because of my experience with this man.
