After spending quite some time in the buyers market, we crossed paths with Marshall at an open house that he was hosting. We were immediately drawn to his enthusiasm and positive, but far from overbearing, demeanor. As we discussed the unfortunate series of failed offers we had suffered earlier in the year, we noticed that he was actually taking notes regarding these properties and our experiences; beginning to build a picture of what we were looking for in a property. Shortly thereafter he became our agent, guiding us through the process of searching for and finding the right home for our family in the challenging Arlington market. Marshall exceeded our high expectations with his energy level, kindness and experience. When we learned he was a fellow native Washingtonian, we felt this additional quality was icing on the cake. He proved excellent at sourcing inspectors, contractors and generally organizing and coordinating all activities surrounding a home purchase. Our new home required some additional investigation and negotiation regarding a couple of issues. Marshall was present at all the inspections, communicating with county engineers on our behalf, standing in the rain with general contractors and in the mosquitos with structural engineers. He negotiated effectively and very professionally with the listing agent to the point that the potential issues became moot. He was also able to recommend a solid financing option through his connections.We were so pleased with the purchasing experience that we continued to work with Marshall through the renovation and eventual sale of our existing property. Here, he outdid even his earlier high level of competency. In particular, bringing onboard an incredibly skilled and amiable contractor with a specialization in prepping homes for sale.

I stumbled upon/lucked into working with Marshall for my first time home buying experience. He has a good knowledge of the area and was very helpful in finding spots within my price range. I had to put my search on hold for a year after we had been looking for some months and he just said to come back whenever I was ready to look again and we could pick it back up. He was helpful, timely, never really pushy even when I needed to pause the search and when we put in an offer he did it in a way to leave me time and consideration for adjustments. Overall very positive first home buying experience and I would recommend Marshall's service any time.

Marshall Cromwell is truly the best in the business! He guided me through the entire process of selling my house in six weeks. After a careful walk through, he advised me about what needed to be done to get the house ready to show, offered recommendations for downsizing, even transported things in his own truck to my daughters house. He worked beautifully with my painter/carpenter to prepare the house for showing, all with great enthusiasm and professionalism. Having advertised the coming sale, he held back to back open houses with the result that I had a full-priced contract on the fourth day!He then worked in a friendly, effective manner with the buyers agent to work through negotiations for positive outcomes right up to the final settlement.
