Mary is a great realtor. We tried someone else who wasnt getting it done and saw a friend that worked with Mary so we gave her a try. Through working with Mary in this tough market found a great house and got a great deal that Mary was instrumental in helping negotiate. I really felt like she was on our side and pushed for a better price instead of just trying to make a sale. Her responsiveness was incredible as was her knowledge and follow through. She was also very informative and upfront in responding to our many questions as first time homebuyers both during and after closing. I will definitely use Mary again when buying or selling but thanks to the house we got I probably wont need to!
- Jodie Beth - SilverlakeMary is seriously the best. She's reliable and professional at all times--as soon as you start working with her you can just tell you're in good hands. She's also organized and incredibly responsive, coordinating and batching visits that work with your schedule. Speaking personally, we weren't fully prepared for just how tough the housing market is right now. Mary's guidance, upbeat attitude, and persistence just made it feel like we were on a team together. Cannot recommend her enough.
- Jesse - SilverlakeI can't rave enough about our experience with Mary as our real estate agent! I honestly NEVER thought I would ever own a house (let alone in a place like LA), but Mary helped make it possible and made it such an easy experience. From spending full days carting me around all over LA for open houses, sending me houses within (and below!) our budget on a weekly basis, setting me up with a reputable lender to help us get approved, never "pushing us" to buy or move faster than we were ready. She even set us up with a contractor for some work who has been the BEST CONTRACTOR I'VE EVER WORKED WITH (and I've been through TONS of nightmares). She really provides a one stop shop and goes above and beyond to make a home buying experience as good as it gets! She even sent us a housewarming guest when we moved in which was such a nice cherry on top of the top notch service she provided. With all the weird, sharky, nasty people in the real estate industry, it's so nice to have someone so authentic like Mary to work with. Thanks!
- Emylee - Los AngelesMary was amazing to work with. She found our dream house, it was a complicated trust purchase with additional lot parcel issues, not your average straight forwarded transaction. Mary went above and beyond to make it happen. Mary is a joy to work with true professional.
- Paul - GlendaleAs first time home buyers, Mary made the process very easy and pressure free. She doesnt just care about finding you a house, she cares about finding you the RIGHT house. She genuinely listened to our comments and requests at each showing and applied them to future showing. She also gave us space to talk and flexibility. Communication is her strong point. Mary followed up during and after the process whether it was with us, the other realtor, or the mortgage company. I had to meet with the sellers realtor to hand over some mail and he said Mary was a fierce negotiator and easy to work with. We bought a home outside of LA proper and she met us even weekday evenings and weekends. She is a Realtor dream come true & I will use her if we ever purchase another home in the future.
- Mackenzie - Canyon CountryMary was an amazing source of support for us during our home buying process. Not only was it difficult buying our first home in a competitive market like Los Angeles but we also bought during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mary was proactive, understanding, and really took the time to answer all of our questions and make us feel comfortable during an uncomfortable time. She was available when we needed her and provided resources to us such as contractor and lender recommendations. Mary also has an extremely sweet personality and is just a joy to work with.
- Austin - Los AngelesDue to Covid and the layoffs, we decided to make the tough decision and sell our house and relocate to a different city. It was very sad to leave our house and our friends. Mary Dix held our hands the entire way. She sat us down and had a real conversation on selling our house. Mary gave us realistic expectations on how much we could get for our house. She also made suggestions on what we needed to do to get top dollar. At the end, we were able to sell our house above market value. In fact, the price we got for our house was way past our expectations. Mary also went out of her way and helped us with finding a real estate agent in our new city. She worked very seamlessly with the other agent. We were able to sell our old house, use the profits to buy our new house and Mary made the transition easy and virtually painless. There were a few hiccups (as with all real estate transaction), that were completely out of Mary's control. She reassured us that things would be okay and worked hard to resolve the issues. I highly recommend her! She worked so hard for us and we will always be grateful for her.
- Greg - Los AngelesMary is a go getter! The minute you say you would like to put an offer on a house she will ruuuuun and get it going fast. Her expertise and knowledge helped us get our dream home. She went above and beyond and we closed in less than 20 days. We even got our house well below asking price. She is the best and I would recommend her to anyone that I know who is looking for a home
- Cyndee - Costa MesaSaying that Mary is amazing is not doing her justice. This woman is a superhero to us. We were first-time home buyers and this process seemed daunting and often we felt so defeated. But Mary was so patient with and persistent in our search..she said in our first meeting we are going to get you what you want! After searching for 7 months (during a pandemic) and seeing about 100 homes, Mary helped us land our very first home.our dream home. Mary was so patient and helpful navigating the very competitive LA Real Estate market and was always honest with us if it was good buy or not. Mary was absolutely vital in guiding through the offer process - thanks to Marys guidance, we placed a very strategic offer that helped us beat out 8 other offers, 3 of which were CASH and then quickly got us into escrow. Mary has excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and the sellers realtor shared with us that Mary was a dream to work with and she was pivotal in closing the deal. She recommended inspectors for us to work with and made sure to attend every inspection and walk through. She made a very stressful process (did I mention we did most of this process during lockdown?) fun and we laughed a lot. We liked working with her so much, we became friends. I cannot say enough good things about her. In a city where realtors are too busy to help or dont care, Mary is the exact opposite.
- Gretchen - Van NuysMary Dix recently sold my home as my husband and I relocated out of the Los Angeles area. She made many recommendations that ultimately helped us sell our home for higher than what we expected. Not only was she instrumental in selling our home but she helped us deal with several setbacks that occurred during the selling and escrow process. She even went above and beyond and coordinated with our realtor that was helping us purchase a new home out of state. She answered any question we had, helped us navigate a few issues that arose, and put together a strategy to get us the most money for the sale of our home. If you need an agent that will be there and take care of you with amazing service Mary is the person you need on your side.
- Warren - Los AngelesMary is absolutely amazing! My husband and I were first time home buyers. Mary was always there to walk us through the process and answer all of our questions. Shes super kind and considerate and we would recommend her to anyone. We love our new home and are grateful for everything she helped us with! :)
- Ashley - Santa ClaritaMary came highly recommended by a friend of ours, and we couldnt have been more grateful to have had her as our realtor! Buying a home in LA in one of the the craziest housing markets, and on a tight timeframe, we knew we were asking a lot, but Mary went above and beyond to help us make it happen! She even helped video and FaceTime while we were on the other side of the country selling our house. She knew exactly how to navigate this competitive market and never skipped a beat. We are so grateful to have had her come into our lives and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new home in the LA area!
- Meika - PasadenaMary handled our sale from start to finish with excellence, confidence, authenticity, and competency. She was incredibly personable and exceptionally responsive (even at the most random hours of the day for some of the simplest questions or concerns). Mary also helped coordinate our improvements and renovations with various vendors using the Concierge program through Compass, which we were ALSO very pleased with. For the one week our house was on the market, Mary was CONSTANTLY seeing buyers and calling agents and managed to fill just about EVERY time slot for each day up until our offer submission deadline. She even added additional showings just to keep up with the demand. Our house ended up selling for MORE over the asking price than what we purchased it for in the first place, and we give much of that credit to Mary and her team.
- Brian - Highland ParkMary was such a pleasure to work with! As a first time home buyer Mary was there each step of the way and made the whole process as seamless and easy as possible. Mary was always there day and night to answer any questions I had and never took longer than a few moments to get back to me. Her kind attitude, knowledge of real estate and the market, as well as contacts in the are made Mary an invaluable piece to my first home buy. Thank you Mary so much!!
- Cameron - Long BeachOnce upon a time (read: January 2021) the wife and I decided to see what the LA housing market was all about after trying to find any sort of 3BR rental that didn't 2-3X our monthly housing costs. We met Mary at the first house we looked at in Highland Park and quickly realized that we were completely in over our head. Mary was friendly and patient as she took the time to talk us back from the cliff. We had a good connection with her and decided to continue to work with here. NOTE: when that house in Highland Park sold for $400k over asking we knew we were in for quite the roller coaster rideWe spent the next 6-7mo looking at homes throughout NELA, Burbank, Glendale, Atwater, Mt Washington, Glassell Park, Pasadena, Altadena, El Sereno et al. Mary lives in the area so she was very knowledgeable about all the neighborhoods/homes/sellers/agents and gave us valuable feedback/ constructive criticism along the way. We made multiple offers but continued to be outbid. Weekend after weekend of driving all over with two kids in the back were filled with daydreams, wonder, shock, stress, heartbreak, and more. Eventually we realized that maybe the East side was just not for us anymore as we kept driving back home from all these little dream homes only to find ourselves asking, "Where are we going to put all of our stuff!? Plus we have two boys now? How are you going to make this commute to work every day?" All the while Mary kept guiding us along the way with words of encouragement assuring us that our dream home was indeed out there. So maybe we're Valley people? Sure, lots of our friends are out there with their families. They all seem to love it. Once Mary made the suggestion, we decided to make that shift it really opened up inventory within our budget and still checked off all the boxes. Mary was right there with us. When we'd get in the car our oldest started to ask us if Mrs. Mary was going to be where we were going. Ha.More daydreams, wonder, shock, stress, heartbreak, rinse, repeat. By now it was September. Maybe we could survive in our apartment another year? Our oldest already started his new school year. Maybe we should take a break and just let things shake out a bit. As I was setting up the tour request for a final weekend, a place caught our eye and it was the very last home I added on a whim. We were smitten but didn't want to get our hopes up. We decided to make one last final-final offer before we threw in the towel. If it happens it happens, if not we go back to our lives. And of course somehow everything just fell into place; every single step of the bid process to escrow, inspections, move in, etc. Literally turnkey. Worth every penny and still within the budget we set for ourselves without putting up crazy cash. Our family is so happy in our new home and neighborhood. We owe a debt of gratitude for Mary's help and guidance and friendship along the way.Mahalo!
- Xavier - ResedaMary's the best! We had a wonderful experience and found the home of our dreams. The home-search process and the buying journey can be scary to navigate and Mary made it fun, enjoyable, and surprisingly easy. It's like having another great friend help out!
