    • Our recent home sale with Matt Claxton went very well and exceeded our expectations. Matt was able to provide expert advice on how to prepare the home for the market. He also did careful analysis of market pricing to put our home in a great position to sell quickly with little hassle. We ended up with several over-ask offers in only a few days. We also appreciated Matt's laid back style and professionalism.

    • We have worked with Matt several times over the years for primary home purchases and sales as well as investment property management. We appreciated Matt's critical eye and low pressure approach. We've dealt with realtors who talk only about the good things in every house and try to hasten a purchase decision, but he remains objective. Don't be fooled initially by his understated approach - when you get to discussing properties, his expertise shines!

    • Matt Claxton's knowledge and experience with the Charlotte real estate market was an instrumental resource in navigating a changing and complicated environment. He led us through the process of both selling our last home and purchasing our current home. His recommendations for staging and pricing our home helped us sell our home quickly and at the highest value of any home sold in our former neighborhood over the previous 4 years we lived there. In addition, after we provided our specifications, he and his team showed us many houses that were within our price range that also met our needs for schools, environment, and space. When we made our offer Matt helped us negotiate for a fair price and concessions to maximize our dollars as we expanded. I would recommend Matt and his team to friends, family, and anyone new to the Charlotte area.

    • I have had the pleasure of working with Matt Claxton three times in the last four years; twice representing me as a buyer and once as a listing agent. I can't say enough good things about Matt. I wanted an agent with a strong knowledge of Dilworth/Myers Park and the surrounding areas, as well as someone who was well-versed in the condo market in general, as well as the many specific condo associations in particular. Matt doesn't disappoint in either regard. As a buyer, I knew what was important to me and Matt quickly picked up on the things that were must-haves, nice-to-haves, and also the things which would be deal-breakers. For instance, Matt knew that I was particular about sound transfer between units, especially from an upstairs unit. If I expressed interest in a complex that had been constructed in such a manner to allow for easy noise transfer, he let me know in advance that it could be an issue, and I moved on to complexes that were more sturdily built. Similarly, a must-have for me was lots of natural lighting, so there were a number of units that we visited several times, and at different times, so that I could get a feel for how much sunlight would come in throughout the day. Having worked with Matt on both sides of the home equation, I can attest to the fact that he is fair to both buyer and seller. When formulating an offer or counter-offer, we were aligned in the belief that providing the other party with a few options is more about creating a win-win situation for everyone than about purely negotiating tactics. I could count on his professional judgment of what was reasonable and realistic, and go from there. It was apparent to me that he has worked hard over the years to build a solid reputation among his fellow agents and that he would never jeopardize that. During one closing, the other party's agent and lawyer had both missed a line item on the closing statement that caused their client to come up short several hundred dollars. Matt did not miss the item in his review of the documents and his review alone ensured that the other party received their full amount due. Aside from this, I always appreciated Matt's easy-going and relaxed personality. Buying or selling can be a stressful time (in addition to being exciting!), so having an agent such as Matt was a great counter-balance. Also much appreciated are the nice client outings Matt has offered over the years to thank those who work with him - baseball games, Santa at the Duke Mansion, etc. Some will say that's just good business practice, but I also feel it's a gracious gesture that a lot of agents don't bother to extend. This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Jordan Rush, who works with Matt as a buyer's agent. Jordan was always prompt, pleasant, and she also grasped early on the things that were important to me. I especially appreciated Jordan's knowledge of construction-type or repair/remodel issues, since that is not my strong suit. I looked at one unit with a partial basement that ran beneath. There was water and insulation and wiring all over the place, but Jordan was more than willing to get down there and take a look to evaluate how that would impact the unit that I was considering. And if we looked at something and it didn't interest me right away for whatever reason, we just moved on to the next showing. Neither she nor Matt ever tried to persuade me of anything. There was no time wasted, but many valuable opinions shared. I am fully expecting to be residing in my latest purchase for the long-term, but if the time comes that I do need to move again, Matt and Jordan will be getting a call for me. I would recommend them with greatest confidence to family, friends, or co-workers. Thank you, Matt and Jordan!

    • Matt Claxton and Jordan Rush have been wonderful realtors. They helped me in identifying a right home as per my specs, have done followups diligently, and have taken care of all required aspects right from presenting an offer to closing extremely well. They are highly knowledgeable and I would recommend to them to anyone who needs realtor services.

    • My Townhome Realty and Matt Claxton took care of selling my property in the Warehouse District in Charlotte, NC with professionalism and a focus on delivering the best value for us. Living remotely, I was concerned about selling the property, but Matt and his team took care of everything. I was renting the property and when we decided to sell, Matt arranged for cleaning, painting and staging of the condo unit and proceeded to market and advertise. As offers came in he offered his expert opinion on them and gave advice on the market conditions, but allowed us to make a decision. In the end, we sold property for a realistic and fair price and Matt and his team arranged everything via email and remote signature. I would recommend My Townhome Realty and Matt Claxton to anyone selling a property in the Charlotte area.

    • We worked with Matt to sell our home after it had been rented for a year. Matt did a great job with the listing, advertising, and negotiating of the sale. He was most instrumental in the back-and-forth that occurred with the buyers agent and their requests. He handled the negotiating and only brought valid requests to or attention.

      - Chad Melton
    • It was a pleasure to work with Matt. He has tremendous knowledge of the housing market and was able to find the perfect home for my family. He was also able to sell my old home right away. He was always on time and and available via phone when I needed to speak with him. I would highly recommend Matt to be your real estate agent if you are buying, selling or looking to rent. Even 4 years later we still hear from him regularly to see how we are doing.

    • We've worked with Matt numerous times in both purchase and sale transactions. We have always come away feeling relieved to have him on our side. Matt is a true professional with intimate market knowledge and tenacious negotiation skills. One of his greatest skills his the ability to spot value and improve his buyers or sellers results. In all of our transactions he's correctly steered us away from deals that turned out to be losers. He does all of this with a calm demeanor that helps to make the overall process run smoothly.

      - Ethan Elzen
    • Matt helped my wife and me find the perfect home, and he also sold the home we were in at the time. He was patient and helpful throughout our search. We also feel he did a great job of marketing the home we sold. I used Matt because as a mortgage loan officer at South State Bank, I have helped many of his clients. Everyone has always been very happy with the service they received from Matt, and our experience was no different. I recommend Matt as a realtor if you are selling or buying a home.

    • Matt Claxton assisted my wife and I with the sale of our home, locating a temporary rental, and the purchase of our new and now current home. He provided us excellent advice on how to prepare our home for listing...this advice helped us to sell our home within 24 hours and at a price much higher than we would have ever anticipated. On the buying side, Matt helped present us to several great options....the home we finally ended up with was just perfect. My wife and I were very impressed with our selling an buying experience with Matt. My wife specifically appreciated how good of a listener Matt was with us. He was responsive to all of our calls and questions... It was truly an exception experience working with Matt and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home in the Charlotte Area.
