I was born to sell. This is no surprise to anyone who knows my background, having learned my selling techniques from the best -- my father, Alan Gaylor, founder of the successful, Houston-based formal wear business, Al’s Formal Wear. As Vice President of Merchandise, my responsibilities centered on buying and selling merchandise and procurement, negotiated deals with suppliers and customers, organized and coordinated large group sales, provided corporate support to store personnel, created policies to enhance customer service, and resourced product and supplies. While my main focus for the business was on the buying and selling of our merchandise, I was also involved in marketing our product, scouting store locations and store design.
