When I initially embarked on my home buying journey, I scoured the internet for a qualified home buyers agent whose expertise included relocations and first-time home buyers. In my introductory email, I included my timeline, features I desired in a home and an excel spreadsheet containing a list of prospective homes that satisfied my criteria. I contacted nearly a dozen realtors and used the consultation and our first few exchanges to select the best fit. There was only a single realtor whose responsiveness and professionalism exceeded the rest: Melissa Floyd. Ms. Floyd was always polite, honest, meticulous, and extremely patient as this was my first time buying a house. I was relocating to South Carolina and was unfamiliar with the area. Ms. Floyd provided me with an overview of what buying a house entailed, shared a wealth of knowledge about the area Id soon call home and the current state of the housing market. She was extremely accommodating and went out of her way to conduct a virtual tour of the potential home as I was out-of-state. During the tour, she even discussed possible furniture and dcor arrangements that would complement the layout of the home. Any questions that arose throughout the process, she answered in a timely fashion and was available by both phone and email. She stayed abreast of the everchanging MLS and caught a change in the listing for the house that I elected to purchase. Consequently, she was able to successfully negotiate more money for closing costs provided to me by seller. During the initial walk-through, Ms. Floyd was punctual and thorough; she highlighted every major and minor defect found in the newly built home. She kept accurate records and made sure everything was repaired during the last official walk-through held the Friday before closing. On Monday, she was gracious enough to meet me at 8 am, three hours before closing, to conduct a final inspection of the home prior to driving nearly 1.5 hours away to the site of the closing. She never grew weary of my endless questions and efficiently communicated with all parties involved to ensure everything flowed smoothly. She shared my excitement throughout this process and was only ever a text, phone call, or email away.
