More about Michael Cheever
Born and raised in the metro Atlanta area, Michael graduated from Newnan High School with honors. As an All-America football player he also lettered in basketball and soccer. Michael received a football scholarship to Georgia Tech and went on to start all four years at center.
After receiving All-ACC honors and graduating Georgia Tech in 1996, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Michael as the first center in the 1996 NFL draft. There he played in 14 games and started 2 games in his rookie season. Cheever was voted to the NFL All Rookie team at center for the 1996 season. He then took over the starting job in the eighth game of the 1997 season.
After football, Michael entered the business world by starting a sports marketing venture fund, Catalyst Marketing. Soon after this he founded StayfitUSA, a fitness and wellness employee benefits program. He then sold StayfitUSA to a publicly traded company in 2001.
