I grew up in San Jose, CA in a wonderfully middle class family. I had two loving parents that drove me to excel at whatever I chose to do. I had the good fortune to be a decent football player and landed a football scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley - Go Bears! After college and a summer backpacking through Europe, I began a 20 year career with Macy's - and I thought football was competitive. Up the corporate ladder I climbed moving all over the state.
