In 2025, Norma James received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Albemarle Area Association of Realtors. She’s been selling and listing real estate since 1992 and became Broker in Charge of Taylor Mueller Realty in 1999. Her talent and dedication have earned her the title of Realtor of the Year in 2004, 2005, and 2007, and she’s served two terms as President of the Albemarle Area Association of Realtors. In 2019, her community work was recognized with the Women of Excellence award, and as a former ECSU Trustee, she also received the Chancellor’s Legacy award that year. The public has celebrated her too, naming her the Reader’s Choice top Real Estate agent in both 2002 and 2019. Today, she serves on the board of trustees for Truist Bank and is former treasurer for EC Habitat for Humanity. Outside of work, she helps her husband on their farm as a truck driver during harvest, volunteers at church, and treasures time with her family.
