"There's no way I'm getting into real estate." I vividly remember saying those words to a friend who was recruiting me into the business. I didn't actually know anything about the work of real estate brokerage at the time. My limited exposure from pop culture had me pretty confused. (Did you know George Costanza from "Seinfeld" was a real estate agent in the first few episodes? See for yourself.) Thankfully, my friend knew more than I did: about the business and perhaps about me. He knew that I had an architecture degree from nearby NC State, and that since graduation I had been working for a non-profit that develops college students into leaders.
