In 1986 while living away from home, my mom sent me an article about a Realtor in St. Louis who had achieved $2,000,000 in sales volume which put her at the top of the class. My mom said she could see me selling real estate and my roommate at the time, not knowing about the article, suggested I should get into real estate sales. My dad was never keen on the idea, after all it was for "part-time housewives" and people who "couldn't make it in the real world" and I had a college degree. In an effort to prove him wrong, I made a name for myself in a very short period of time by serving people with excellence. Business snowballed. Before long, I was doing enough business to justify hiring someone to manage the paperwork while I was on appointments.
