Silvia's fabulous! We had no idea what we got ourselves into when we decided to move to SF - the market in SF was totally crazy compared to everywhere else. Silvia's knowledge put us to ease. Here's the deal- I decided to sell my condo in the worst downturn since the depression. Silvia Damen, a.k.a. "Super Agent" sold my place in 3 days, with 2 cash offers, for over asking. Everyone around me is in shock, and my friends who were trying to sell and who've gotten no offers are firing their agents and trying to switch to Silvia. Here's how she did it: First, she's that unusual agent who's great with numbers (she's got an MBA and very comfy crunching numbers) so she's got a better understanding of the comps than any other agent I've seen. She was spot-on in her pricing strategy for my condo. Second, she's a guerilla marketer, and she had my condo listed on about 8 websites including facebook, she held 3 open houses in 4 days, and she marketed it aggressively to her extensive network. We had 2 cash offers by the 3rd day, before she even held the 3rd open house! I know that used to be commonplace in SF, but in March 2009, we're in a tough housing market and terrible economy, and many of the comps were slashing their prices and getting no offers. Mine flew off the market, and it's due to Silvia's marketing and pricing strategy.

Two sets of friends -- both first time buyers -- have bought places in the city through Silvia. One group (three siblings) bought a beautiful house on the Panhandle, & the other bought a sweet new condo in the Mission. Silvia was patient, honest, & direct about everything -- a surefire way to set those "holy crap I'm buying my first home!!!11one" jitters at ease just a bit. Still, you know, the market's risky, so no matter what, you're going to feel like you're gambling. Who knows what will happen after you buy a place? BUT, it's been a few years since their respective purchases, & they're both doing well. Amazingly well, actually. Silvia is truly gifted and works tirelessly. It is very challenging to write an amazing review after many amazing reviews have already been written. Instead, I will assure you: they are true, she is great. I have been fortunate to have Silvia help me buy twice and sell once. Although it took time and patience, Silvia helped my find a lovely one-bedroom condo (two unit building with a back yard). Being a first time homebuyer can be an extremely overwhelming experience. It is a daunting task to find a real-estate agent that actually takes the time to find the right property that you are looking for and also stays within your price point.My husband and I met Silvia on a random open house walk-in one day while she was showing a property. We had already contacted another agent to work with, but instantly hit it off with Silvia and let her know that we were looking for a home and if she could assist. We exchanged contact information and Silvia went right to work. My husband and I conveyed our wish list and price point and Silva begin searching for the perfect match. It helped that Silvia was very thorough and could weed out options, so no time was wasted. We felt that she was very helpful working around our schedules and was easy to get in touch with via email, text or cell phone and at anytime.We were first time homebuyers with a lot of questions and concerns as most do, but Silvia was always very patient with us and researched all the answers. I bought my first home in Dec of 2005. I met Silvia and told her my budget and considering the market at the time, I was pretty sure it was impossible to find a new building with hardwood floors and two bedrooms with parking in my busy part of town. She led me through each step, even helping me find a mortgage broker who got me the rate I needed so I could make my payments. She guided me through the whole process, warned me of things to be careful about and gave me her honest opinion of every place I looked at. I know this because Silvia mentioned a concern for my safety walking home at night in a neighborhood that is unsafe. She even picked me up after work one night to show me the difference between the neighborhood at night vs. day. That is something I really admired about Silvia. Two things that really stick out about Silvia as an outstanding agent are: 1) She has a really good sense of value in both San Francisco and Marin - which was important to me since I was looking in both areas for my first home, and 2) She has a solid understanding of finances and was able to connect me with the right type of lender who helped me secure a fantastically low interest rate loan.
