My journey to closing on "the one" started with an offer on a foreclosure back at the end of February. The bank ended up accepting another offer out of nowhere, but Stephen didn't give up on finding me a place and we looked at many condos downtown of all shapes and sizes. Despite seeing some great places, I didn't find anything that I loved like the first one, and Stephen was patient and didn't encourage me to go after anything that I wasn't 100% sure about. In addition to showing me other options, he stayed on top of the foreclosed condo because we weren't going to give up until it had officially closed with the other buyer (it's not over 'til it's over). Over two months after we initially put in the offer on the first condo, thanks to Stephen's diligence and patience, we found out that the other deal had fallen through, and the bank requested us to resubmit our offer. There were a couple of costly issues that seemed unlikely to be resolved by the seller since it was a foreclosure, but thanks to some great negotiating, we managed to get the bank to pay for nearly everything we asked for. Not only does Stephen have an in depth knowledge of the market, but as, if not more importantly, he has his client's best interest in mind and goes so far above and beyond to not only help find the right place but also see it through to the end, even when that involves meeting A/C and electrical people when you're stuck at a work conference halfway across the country. I had never purchased a home before, knew nothing about getting a mortgage, home inspections etc., and now, thanks to Stephen's help with all of these things, I own my dream place that appraised so well that I have instant equity!
