I started in real estate by trying to help people by offering them a low cost rental property in Dallas, GA. At the height of the housing boom (just before the bust) I was told by my real estate agent quite a few untruths. I was told I could refi in 2 years for a better rate; Not to worry about the interest only loan. I just had to use his appraiser, his Loan officers; he would set up everything and be there to assist the refi in 2 years. Little did I know all this is illegal! The market went bust, he disappeared and I am upside down on a interest only loan. I never want this to happen to anyone again.
