Susan is the best! Very knowledgeable about the market, the process, and what to look for in a property. And customer-focused! Even though it took a while to find my new home, with the market, my specific requirements and some hurdles, she kept emphasizing that finding me the right place was her priority. She's also a wonderful person and a joy to work with.

This was my second home purchase and of course Susan came to immediately! She really helped to guide and thoroughly informed me of all the technicalities involved in buying a house. In this very competitive market, even if she was not available she made sure one of her coworkers was there to help. There were a lot of highs and lows during the process and Susan was there every step of the way!!

Susan was FANTASTIC! She even negotiated an extra $5,000 above what I was willing to accept. She provided excellent professionals for electrical, plumbing, cleaning and moving. At every turn Susan went above and beyond to handle my long distance sale. She even convinced the city to cover the cost of fixing a water meter after I had agreed to pay $700 to a plumber. She is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL in every meaning of the word!

On top of that she is a super sweet person that is delightful to work with. We were able to get the first house we put an offer on in a hot market because of her. When it comes to buying houses she doesn't mess around and fights for her buyers in every regard. She even called our mortgage consultant and advocated for us to owe less at closing. She knew the financial rules better than he did. If you want a knowledgeable, reliable, and wonderful broker, Susan is the one.

We were referred to Susan by a friend and feel very fortunate to have had her help us as both a buyer’s and a seller’s agent. She stood by us with advice and support as we made offers on a one-of-a-kind home in a stressful (at least for me) multiple offer situation. In addition, it had been many years since our last home purchase and much about the process has changed. Susan patiently guided us through all the steps and took care of contacting, at our request, all the professionals we needed to complete the purchase (inspector, surveyor and the like). We hadn’t planned on buying a house at all, but then it happened, so it was all hands on deck to get our old house ready to sell. Susan advised us on updates we could make, in the limited time we had, to get the highest price for our home. When we discovered a small gutter repair was necessary, she worked tirelessly to find someone who would take on such a small and tricky job. We’d never have been able to find someone on our own. She knows who to call in a pinch—I still call her when I need a referral. We followed all her advice, even when it was hard to take—really, we need to have the house staged? She was right at every turn, and we recouped our costs many times over. In the end, we received ten offers in two days, ultimately selling our home for more than $60,000 over asking price. Susan is a delight to work with. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Susan is everything we hoped for in real estate agent, and much more. As out-of-town buyers we especially appreciated that Susan is highly professional, exceptionally easy to reach, responsive, proactive, and very well-connected in the Durham community, including inspection, contractors and craft specialists. We were "out of town" purchasers. We talked with Susan by phone and e-mail, and made an exploratory trip to Durham. She gave us a tour of the area and a few houses she thought we might like, and we found the perfect house on this "exploratory" trip. Then, while we lived 1200 miles and a time zone away, she shepherded us from offer through closing - and represented us in dealing with jobs like inspections and estimates that we couldn't manage at a distance. And as closing approached and we began planning renovations, Susan was a font of helpful advice and contacts. Every recommended contractor has done great work at a fair price. She made buying a house from a distance as easy as it could be. We recommend her highly. If we ever sell our house and/or buy another, she will be our agent.

Susan sold my first little "starter home" for me years ago and I've been a fan ever since. She sold our more grown up home as well, and helped tremendously with suggestions for improvements and staging, and we ended up with a full-price contract in just 36 hours. She knows how to price a house. After that, Susan hung with us as we searched for our current home for more than a year, shifting our thinking about what we wanted several times. Whew!
