This man is obviously prejudiced against black people. I went to view a home, and for some reason my realtor did not schedule the showing with the correct home, so I came to the showing, at a time where there was someone else there. From the moment I stepped in the home he was dry, unwelcoming, and VERY negative. I had already applied to the home before seeing it, because I wanted it that bad. At the time there was only one application, MINE. As he confirmed, and as soon as he saw me his first statement was "oh the owner is very picky because of the last tenants". Like basically an omen that I wasn't going to get the house. Mind you, I can see that the house hadn't been listed for about 8 years. So if the tenants were that "bad" as he said , why were they able to maintain their tenancy for so long? Not only that since there was another person viewing the home who was WHITE, and alternatively he was VERY chipper with her, energy completely different that what he gave me and at that moment I knew it was racially motivated. Now one might say that its based on qualifications, but I make 6 figures, at the time of application I only provided one source of income because it met the requirements of 3 times the rental amount, but still, It's very sad that people come to the country that MY ancestors built up, to treat us as sub par. It's crazy to think that he's been in this business for 30 odd years, and I can only IMAGINE the discrimination that he has put my people through.
