  • Vonda and I connected, but did no business

My experience with Vonda McNutt was one of the worst experiences of my life. It is still an ongoing nightmare. I had a home on the market to sell. I rented it to her temporarily while her house was being renovated. Being a real estate agent, she told me she had no problem whatsoever letting us show the house (by owner), while she lived there. What I did not find out until a few months into our rental agreement is that Vonda called in and had herself listed as my agent with the realtor's scheduling service. She was able to deny all requests for showing without my knowledge. She did this without my knowledge and without my consent. I found out only because all of my showings abruptly stopped. She was giving excuses of illness, bad timing, and other conflicts as to why the house could not be shown. We lost two months of valuable, prime selling time for a lakehouse. As soon as we found out about what she had done, I had her name immediately removed and told her I should turn her into the Texas Real Estate Commission. She begged and pleaded with me not to and even denied putting herself on my listing. To make matters worse, she completely destroyed the white marble countertops in the kitchen, the white couches, and most of the walls of the home. We added an extra line in our rental agreement about the marble and noted she would have to pay out of the deposit for any damages. Since the house was totally destroyed, we deducted the cost of repairs from her deposit. However, due to the extensive repairs and Covid, we did not send her the remaining deposit within the 30 days allowed. Therefore, Vonda is suing us for all of her deposit plus she is allowed by law three times that amount. So due to a technicality, she can walk away with us owing her thousands of dollars. When we took the house back we found loaded guns in her son's downstairs closets. No safety was on the two handguns and they were in plain sight, left on a closet shelf. I wrote one review to give notice to anyone who might get caught up in a business arrangement with Vonda because I was contacted by a family member of Vondas letting me know that she will sue anyone for anything and that I should be very aware that this is one of her main sources of income. Be very careful
