Basel Tarabein was born in Damascus, Syria, in 1970 to a very successful real estate family. One could say real estate “ran in his blood.†In 1990, Basel moved from Syria to the United States to settle in Madison, Wisconsin, and start his own business. He earned his success early on, and moved to the Chicagoland area to embark on a new career. In 1999, Basel began his real estate business working with a RE/MAX brokerage in Bloomingdale, Illinois. In 2000, just months after his initial licensure, he achieved the RE/MAX Northern Illinois “Rookie of the Year†award, with sales totaling $10.6 million. Additional awards followed every year: the Platinum Club award (8 years in a row), and the Hall of Fame award in 2004.
