In 1991 Bobby and his father Dan purchased Warm Springs Ace Hardware in Fremont after selling Manor Ace Hardware in San Lorenzo which they owned and operated for 11 years. The story behind getting involved in the retail business stems from there property management business in Los Angeles. Every morning our contractors would come into the office and pick up work orders for the day. They would then inspect the properties to see what repairs were needed and go to the local Hardware store to purchase the supplies needed. Many times the stores were out of stock on items of need and the contractors were not able to finish jobs in a timely manner. It was at that point Bobby's father Dan decided to purchase his first Ace Hardware store in Los Angeles and created a system where most of the properties they managed used similar products so that when repairs were needed, Dan could order the supplies in large quantities and keep them in stock for the contractors and locals to purchase.
